"There must be a reason why some people can afford to live well. They must have worked for it. I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things we could use."
~Mother Teresa~

The whole idea surfaced, when I needed a home for my crochet needles. I thought of making a crochet pencil case, but then we had some tube sweet holders that were going in the kids’ school recycle bag and I just knew!!!! As a kid I remember my grandma used to put her knitting needles in a tube that had a crochet jacket …. so there is a bit of sentiment in this project as well.

I always have left over yarn from my crochet projects and that was just perfect to make the crochet tube jacket.

So I made one last year for myself and since made a few for gifts to friends.

When I saw the project on Makers-online website, it just encouraged me to write this blog post to show you how I’ve gone about making it.

Check my flickr for larger versions of the pattern

(Part I and Part II)

Enjoy making your own tube jackets!!!!

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still
~Dorothea Lange~

Haven't forgot to blog for the last few weeks, it just happened to be quite a dramatic hectic few weeks in our household, but all is fine now.

Did not have much time to crochet the last few weeks, but have managed to enter a photo for an assignment on Digital Photography School. My brother encourage me to do so. As soon as I heard what the challenge was, I already had my idea to mind, I knew that I wanted to take a picture of my cozy mugs.

I had no idea and when my brother send me the note, I still thought he was pulling my leg, but no, I actually won the assignment. See more here - http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/DigitalPhotographySchool/~3/pM-ksF4Oxy4/this-week-in-the-digital-photography-school-forums-18-24-jul-10

Thanks for looking!

School holidays has begun, so I hope we will do a few nice outings during the holidays.

Hope to see you soon.
