Hello ...

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.

Hello Kitty is big in our house at the moment. A few weeks back I had a busy time baking for the kids' school fundraising and my nephew's 1st birthday (post to follow soon). So for the fundraising it was Hello Kitty & Pirates. All really went down very well.

I just love the theme myself and in April you see a lot more of this kitty!!!

It was quite difficult to keep every together as it was extremely hot in February in our valley and if the cakes are too cold, the casings came off and if it is not cooled a bit, the icing melts, so it was a bit of catch 22, but the kids' just LOVED the cakes.

I have got a few things lined up, so watch this space.

And for the crochet.... it's slowly, but I have started a project that needs to be finished soon as it's going abroad.

Have a good weekend and I'll see you soon.

  1. Hello Carina. Somewhere I read that you miss the charity shops of the UK. I don't know where in SA you are, but if you are in Pta, try Bellbottoms in Villieria! Out of this world!!! And 'n stalletjie or 2 at the Pretorius Boeremark. But go EARLY (6 am and you feel late!). Also Die Dekke in Grootbrakrivier. Amazing stuff. Love the blog. Gerlene in Ierland!

  2. Sorry, I meant Pretoria Boeremark.

  3. Gerlene - thank you so much for your comment. I'm in Durbanville, Cape Town, but will have to look around for those little treasures around here. Thanks for your lovely comment as well. Cx

  4. Hi Carina! Thanks for stopping over at Joyful Mama's Place earlier -lovely to 'meet' you! I just saw the comment above - I am also in Durbanville, and have three more bloggy friends in the area! Drop me a line at joyfulmama(at)telkomsa(dot)net and we can chat a bit more!
